Sustainability is fairness, truth, and respecting the rights of others. I want to tell people that the Canadian Justice System should be a model for the rest of the world. For example, In case of Mr. Arar, an ordinary Canadian citizen- an inquiry was launched to determine who was responsible for doing injustice to him. In the fall-out of the inquiry, the RCMP Commissioner resigned from his position. This is justice, truth was accepted by the Canadian Government and RCMP for an ordinary Canadian citizen. This is Sustainability.

Different companies in Canada are exploiting the labour force. The companies are not looking after their workers-the workers do not get any medical /dental coverage, and are paid the minimum wages in Ontario ($7.75/Hr). On the other hand, due to the hard work of the labour force, the companies are making millions of dollars on annual basis. The workers deserve better treatment, that is they should get better wages and medical/dental coverage. If a company is making $5 million annually in profit-the workers should get at least a million dollars in bonus on annual basis. The owner will be left with four million dollars which still is too much for him. The owner of the company can use part of the money for upgrading his company and part of it can be saved or invested. The Government should take an initiative to improve the economic status of the Canadian labour force. The compnay owners are getting richer and richer with every passing year and the workers are getting in-debt with every passing day. It will result in unsustainable societies.

Those companies which are responsible for doing pollution, they should pay pollution tax. The pollution tax collected by the government should be used for cleaning the environment. Pollution tax will also make the companies more responsible towards keeping the environment clean. This initiative is a part of sustainability.

The blog (World For All) will focus on sustainable development. My version of sustainable development is different from the version developed at the United Nations (UN). The United Nations version is that "development" not at the expense of environment. The themes of sustainable development (UN) focus on clean air, fossil fuel, renewable energy to reduce green house gases. My version of sustainable development is related to every day life. It includes, society, environment, and economy. But the most important thing is to link all these three sectors (society, economy, and environment) of sustainable development. The UN developed version is more inclined to enviornment and does not take into consideration economy and society. For example, today the Commissioner of RCMP appeared before the committee and was "sorry" for whatever happened to Mr. Arar due to RCMP's report. I call this action/event a part of sustainable development becuase the Commissioner was asked to appear before the committee. The highest official of RCMP. During the proceeding the Commissioner acknowledged that whatever information RCMP provided to USA was not true. At the end of the day the truth prevailed and Mr. Arar got justice. This is a part of sustainable development.
